Thanksgiving in Santa Barbara

We just got back from a fun couple of days in Santa Barbara for Thanksgiving. We had Thanksgiving dinnner with the Hansen clan at their house along with the 20+ members of their family. It was fun to see how everyone has changed.

We stayed in a Motel 6 in nearby Carpinteria and enjoyed eating Hostess Cupcakes in bed.






On Friday we took Sammy to the Zoo and rode the train. He was excited about the idea but when it came time to get on the train he started getting apprehensive - probably because of the loud sounds. But he likes to talk about the train ride now that it's over.




We took Sammy to see Grandpa's law office.





But Sam's favorite place was the beach. He was nearly naked in the law office photo because he couldn't stay away from the water.





He loved chasing the sea foam.

Although soccer is a fun game to play, the skate park is even more tempting. I thought this was a great father/ son shot. You can just see the itch in both of them to drop down into the bowl.

Middle of November

We're recovering from a week of sickness for the three of us. We've all had a cold followed by a cough and I lost my voice for 3 days. But I think we're all about 95% better.

This afternoon we decided to take a family self portrait. Here's the best one we got. We'll probably use this as our Christmas card photo.
